“I’m a performance artist, costume and latex designer based in London and have been isolating for over a month now with my cats. All my gigs have been cancelled and latex work for brands has also died especially as I've just relocated back to the UK and haven't set up a studio to bring in work or cut from home.
The weeks leading to the lockdown were extremely full on, I had to close down all of my social media profiles and mentally isolate, questioning everything, it's been a huge mental exercise to bring myself back from the land of the dead and find a way to stay productive working from rage and creating again.
I'm taking this opportunity to do all backlog of admin and set up my Etsy and OnlyFans to cover living costs as I am not entitled to any government aid. I'm also working on my latex garments, having sample sales and considering what life may be without the event industry for the next few years at least.
I've been extremely lucky with the surge of support from friends I haven't seen in years, every day is still a roller coaster and we're all in the same boat.” -Topanga Love
